We’ve all lost things we need – car keys, cell phones, that favorite sweater! Next time you find yourself in a jam, say a quick prayer to St. Anthony, the patron of lost articles! Today is his Feast Day. To thee do I hasten, O blessed Saint Anthony! Help me in my present affliction. Today is the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church! The following prayer was written by Pope Francis in 2013: Mother, help our faith! Open our ears to hear God’s word and to recognize his voice and call. Awaken in us a desire to follow in his footsteps, to go forth from our own land and to receive his promise. Help us to be touched by his love, that we may touch him in faith. Help us to entrust ourselves fully to him and to believe in his love, especially at times of trial, beneath the shadow of the cross, when our faith is called to mature. Sow in our faith the joy of the Risen One. Remind us that those who believe are never alone. Teach us to see all things with the eyes of Jesus, that he may be light for our path. And may this light of faith always increase in us, until the dawn of that undying day which is Christ himself, your Son, our Lord! ¡Madre, ayuda nuestra fe! Abre nuestro oído a la Palabra, para que reconozcamos la voz de Dios y su llamada. Aviva en nosotros el deseo de seguir sus pasos, saliendo de nuestra tierra y confiando en su promesa. What do you know about St. Isidore the Farmer, celebrated today? Here’s a brief bio from the Catholic News Service! A humble peasant born near Madrid, Spain, Isidore married and worked the same fields all his life. The couple was said to have lived celibately after their young son died. Always devout, Isidore visited church on his way to work, prayed while ploughing and made local pilgrimages. Legends associate him with miraculous feedings of birds and a crowd of poor men. He was canonized in the august company of Ignatius Loyola, Francis Xavier, Teresa of Avila and Philip Neri. ¿Qué sabes acerca de san Isidro Labrador a quien celebramos hoy? ¡Aquí tienes una breve biografía que nos ofrece Catholic News Service!
